The Purpose:
This unit standard is intended for learners in the field of engineering. The unit standard will enable them to sling and communicate during crane operations. They will understand the importance of applying safe slinging techniques and how it is achieved. This will include a basic knowledge of weight determining, determining what load slinging equipment is required, lashing the load, and attaching the load to the selected lifting equipment, and signaling the lifting equipment operator.
